Emergency crews responded to a residential fire on Wednesday evening. A trailer home caught fire on Trails End Road off North Montana Avenue, causing the sole occupant to evacuate. The fire was reported at about 7:45 p.m. Smoke was still visible while West Valley volunteer firefighters worked to extinguish any hot spots. Lewis & Clark Sheriff's deputies and Montana Highway Patrol officers helped crews contain the situation. NorthWestern Energy was also on scene to shut off electricity and gas. We do not yet know if any one was injured. The cause of the fire is not yet known. We will update you if we get more information.
