Lockwood fire crews rescued a baby on Thursday morning -- a baby deer, that is -- that was trapped between two fences in a residential area. Neighbors made the call for help after finding the deer stuck and panicked between the chain link and vinyl fences on Tampico Drive. Witnesses said the mother deer came back multiple times throughout the day to check on her baby. Fire crews dislodged the baby and treated the animal for minor injuries. Captain Dave McKinney says while he’s unable to confirm the fawn was reunited with its mother, it did run off in the direction the mom was last seen.
