Missoula city firefighter Andy Drobeck — the winner of six straight Scott Firefighter Stairclimb competitions in Seattle — will be suiting up this weekend to go for a different record. Drobeck will be taking part in the first responders heat of the Missoula Mile, a fundraising and awareness run for prostate cancer. He said he decided that as long as he’s going to do it, he might as well set a record if he can — specifically, the Guinness Book of World Records’ fastest mile in a fireman’s uniform. Unlike the annual stairclimb competition, Drobeck won’t be wearing the oxygen tanks and breathing mask during his run. Still, he says the boots, pants, jacket and helmet add at least 25 pounds.
