A small brush fire broke out next to a walking trail off of East Broadway in Missoula Sunday. The call came in just after 3 p.m. and officials with the Missoula Fire Department were able to put out the blaze under an hour. Initial scanner traffic reported bystanders saw flames up to 4 feet when the fire first started. The fire was located in the brush just behind the McDonald's restaurant off of East Broadway and the Campus Inn. Officials with the Missoula Fire Department say they are investigating if this brush fire was related to the three spot fires that broke out at Greenough Park Saturday, but it is too soon to say conclusively. Fire officials are checking security camera video with nearby businesses.
