A fire destroyed a house in a rural area south of Butte this afternoon.
The fire was reported at this home in Divide off of Highway 43 along the Big Hole river about 20 miles south of Butte just before 1:00 p.m. Wednesday.
The residence was fully involved in flames by the time firefighters from several departments arrived. They quickly attacked the fire and prevented it from spreading.
Because it is in a rural area, water had to be brought to the scene by tanker trucks.
Frank Kluesner, Beaverhead County Sheriff told us about the crews, "We got a quick response from agencies from Dillon, Melrose, Wise River and Butte, and as well as forest service and BLM resources in the area as well, so everybody pulls together and gets the job done."
