Planning for the most security the Brawl of the Wild has ever seen started back in April, and Montana State University police chief Frank Parrish says it paid off. "Cat-Griz is the biggest event in Montana, so it's really important for us to have great security and make our fans feel welcome," Parrish said. "I really feel like we accomplished that today." Parrish told NBC Montana 11 law enforcement agencies, four K-9 teams, the 83rd Civil Support Team and the Department of Homeland Security worked together to patrol the matchup between the Montana State University Bobcats and the University of Montana Grizzlies. Bozeman Fire Department chief Josh Waldo said it was a balancing act. "We want people to feel safe but we don't want them to feel like we're too heavy in our presence," Waldo said. Waldo told NBC Montana the event served as practice for the county's emergency plan.
