The Missoula Fire Department (MFD) believes a vehicle parked inside an auto repair shop may have started a fire at the shop Wednesday night. According to MFD crews were called to Rocky Mountain Diesel for a report of smoke and flames just after 7:00 p.m. Wednesday. When firefighters arrived on scene they saw black smoke coming from the roof of the building. No one from the business was present so firefighters made entry through an office and found the fire appeared to be concentrated in the shop area. Crew were able to force entry from overhead doors to get to the fire. The fire was extinguished just after 8:00 p.m. A press released from MFD says, "fire resulted in significant loss to the structure and interior equipment; estimated loss may exceed $100,000." The fire remains under investigation.
