Firetruck damaged after catching fire at Concord station
PHOTO: A firetruck was damaged Thursday morning after it caught fire, officials said. City officials said one of the trucks at Concord Fire Department’s Station 8 caught fire inside the building. Crews were awakened by the sound of fire alarms going off within the station around 4:18 a.m. After finding the bay filled with heavy smoke, firefighters were able to get to their firefighting gear, remove the truck from the station, pull the hose lines and immediately begin fire suppression. Firefighters said nobody was hurt by the flames and the only damage was to the truck. And while they don’t yet know what caused the fire, they said it looks like it started inside of the cab area. Old Charlotte Road Southwest was blocked outside the station while the incident was controlled.

VIDEO: 3 firefighters hurt after ‘mayday’ called during north Charlotte house fire
Three firefighters were hurt in a house fire in north Charlotte early Thursday morning, the Charlotte Fire Department said. The blaze was first reported around 2:45 a.m. on Grimes Street, which is just off North Graham Street. Firefighters said flames were showing from the house when they arrived, and shortly after their arrival, a second alarm was called to bring in more help to put out the fire. While firefighters worked to control the blaze, a “mayday” call was initiated and a firefighter was removed from the house. Three were taken to the hospital. Charlotte Fire Chief Reginald Johnson said none of the firefighters’ injuries were considered life-threatening. Johnson said three residents and a pet were able to escape the house uninjured. Firefighters controlled the fire in about an hour.

2 adults, child die in Lincolnton house fire
VIDEO: A house fire that broke out in Lincolnton early Wednesday morning turned deadly after firefighters discovered three victims, including a child. Lincoln County E911 Communications said the call came in around 2:46 a.m. from Cloudburst Circle, just east of US-321. The caller said people were inside the home, and the North 321 Fire Department found heavy flames throughout. The Maiden, Lincolnton, and Pumpkin Center fire departments aided in getting the scene controlled within 20 minutes. Two adults and one child were confirmed as the victims. As of publication, their identities have not been shared publicly. Crews noted that a firefighter was also hurt because of a structural collapse while trying to rescue the victims. He was treated for minor injuries and later released. An investigation into the cause and origin of the fire is ongoing.
