Firefighters were able to save a home after it caught fire Tuesday afternoon. Firefighters with the Old Ford and Clarks Neck fire departments in Beaufort County responded to a home on Horse Pen Swamp Road outside of Washington. The home suffered moderate damage around 2:00 p.m. Firefighters say it isn't a total loss. The residents will have to temporarily relocate, but no one was hurt. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
