(VIDEO) Gastonia Fire Department firefighters restored the second motorized vehicle ever received in its fleet. It’s an American LaFrance model firetruck from 1921. They say they’ve spent the last few weeks trying to get the motor working and it’s now up and running. The firefighters have enjoyed working on the project. “Pretty much amazing that it still cranks and runs and moves. I just like firetrucks in general. Anything that’s got a red siren and lights, I love it,” says Leon Matthews, a Gastonia firefighter. The truck will not be responding to any actual emergency calls. The fire department is still making more repairs to the vehicle and plans to keep it in a museum.
