We have an update to a story we first brought you Monday, that the large american flag flying over Boy Scout headquarters in Asheville had been taken down and burned. The flag is a local landmark. If you're driving east on I-240 near downtown you can't miss it. Twenty by 40 feet of stars and stripes. Someone destroyed it almost a week ago, but that wrong has finally been made right. If there's an organization that shares the Boy Scout motto of "Be prepared," it's got to be the Asheville Fire Department. That's exactly what the crew of Ladder One was this afternoon, bringing its 100-foot aerial platform to the Haywood Street Daniel Boone Headquarters to do a very good deed--doubled-up as a training exercise. "It's a long truck, and it's not easy to maneuver, the more practice we get at it the better we are," a firefighter said.
