Firefighters responded to a structure fire early Friday morning near Talley Road and Top of the Mountain Road. Officials said dispatchers received a number of calls from neighbors reporting hearing explosions coming from the house leading up to the fire.
This area is near Hendersonville Highway and the French Broad River.
The fire was called in at about 2:15 a.m., according to Jason Merrion, the chief of Little River Fire Department.
Merrion said the home was a total loss when they arrived on scene and the woods around the home was on fire.
It took crews from Little River Fire Department and Brevard Fire Department about 20 minutes to put the fire out, Merron said.
No one was home at the time of the fire and no one was injured, Merron said.
