Pitt County fire crews are working to put a fire at a Farmville dehydration plant. According to Pitt County Communications, the call came in from the Farmville Natural Blend plant around 7:45 a.m. on Monday. Firefighters on the scene say the fire sparked in a dryer, which is used to dehydrate the sweet potatoes. This is the same location of a silo fire that burned for months in 2015. Another recent fire started at the plant a few weeks ago but was contained and extinguished.
