Emergency services were busy in Brunswick County Saturday holding a “Lunch & Learn” for those who are deaf or hard of hearing. The session covered what to do in the event of emergency and provided CPR lessons. Participants got opportunities to ask questions and learn more about resources the county offers. Fire marshal Scott Garner said the program was a learning experience for the emergency services staff and participants. “For us, we want to make sure that they have every opportunity to get the same information and that we’re sharing it with them and they can get it in a way that they understand it,” Garner said. Yesterday’s event was the first in the county and it served multiple counties in the region.
