Outgoing Graham County commissioner Lynn Cody used his final meeting to ask board members to remember volunteer firefighters.
“I want to thank this board for unity of vision ... for serving with vision and dedication,” Cody said.
He then spoke on behalf of the county’s volunteer firefighters.
“The allocation from the county has not increased for many years,” Cody said. “Twenty years ago, fuel cost 90 cents a gallon.”
Cody reminded commissioners that grants have paid for maintenance of vehicles, but that the Santeetlah Fire Dept.
