City firefighters were able to extricate four people Tuesday from a flipped vehicle on the Interstate 26 eastbound off-ramp heading into downtown.
None of the occupants were seriously injured in the wreck around 11:40 a.m., said Capt. Stephen Burnette with the Asheville Fire Department.
The Toyota Camry veered left, over-corrected, lost control, then slid a few hundred feet before rotating once and coming to rest on its side on the grassy median, said officer Sean Davis with the Asheville Police Department.
The occupants were being treated on the scene but were not expected to need transport and were expected to be OK. They were physically trapped after the wreck, Davis said.
Eight units from the fire department as well as Buncombe County EMS and police responded.
The off-ramp reopened around 12:30 p.m.
