More than 20 firefighters had to battle flames and smoke overnight at a home in north Charlotte. Crews were called to the house on Greene Street just off West Sugar Creek Road around 2:30 a.m. Officials said it took about two dozen firefighters about 20 minutes to get the fire under control. Nobody was home at the time and investigators were trying to find the home owners. There is no word yet on what caused the fire, which officals said caused $39,000 in damage.
