The Wilmington Fire Department is trying to send one of its honored members to the Fire Department Instructors Conference free of charge. A spokesman said the conference is the premiere training event for the American fire service. This year, Honeywell is sending 20 deserving firefighters from across the country free of charge to FDIC 2016 in Indianapolis. The event costs roughly roughly $2,000. A spokesman said the City of Wilmington is extremely lucky to have Carmen Delia among the WFD ranks. Delia has been a member of the Wilmington Fire Department for 16 years and has been honored on several occasions for selfless acts in the line of duty, however what makes Delia so extraordinary is his commitment to make a difference in the community. The fire department said Delia is as humble as they come and among the finest humans in our community. The fire department said this is their chance to say thank you to him.
