A man was taken to the hospital after the mobile home he lives in caught fire Friday afternoon. Onslow County Fire Rescue says they were called to the Jasmine Mobile Home Park off Canady Road around 12:45 p.m. Fire Marshal Brian Kelly tells us that one man was home at the time of the fire; he was taken to Onslow Memorial Hospital with unknown injuries. Fire crews say neighbors saw smoke coming from the mobile home, and alerted the man inside. Kelly says the cause of the fire will remain undetermined due to the extensive damage; the home is a total loss. Officials tell us the Red Cross is offering assistance.
