One person was treated for smoke inhalation after firefighters responded to a fire in Madison. Rockingham County 911 received the call just after 9:00 a.m. Sunday about a fire at a complex on N. Franklin Street. Crews saw heavy smoke when they arrived. Investigators said the fire started in the kitchen of an apartment on the third floor of the complex. They believe it was cooking related. 12 Units make up the building affected by the fire. 11 units were occupied and one was vacant, the fire marshal confirmed. Tenants will not be able to move back into the apartments until they're inspected and given clearance by county inspectors. Fire marshal didn't know exactly how many people were displaced because of the fire.
