Police looking for 2nd suspect impersonating Charlotte firefighter

The Iredell County Sheriff's Office was dispatched to a suspicious person acting as a Charlotte firefighter last Friday who was going door-to-door pretending to collect money for fallen firefighters. Officers were called out the the 200 block of Woodstream Circle in regards to the suspicious man wearing khaki shorts, dirty work boots, and a sweat shirt from the Charlotte Fire Department. He was carrying a two liter green drink bottles with the top cut off that said "for the wounded firefighters raffle," telling homeowners that he was collecting money for the Charlotte Fire Department Fallen Firefighters. Authorities identified the man as Paul Walker Jacob Mills and found him walking on the street in the 100 block of Woodstream Circle. He admitted that he didn't work for Charlotte Fire and had no plans on turn any of the money over to the department. Mills told deputies his friend Charles Vernon Brooks III came up with the idea and and was collecting money in a nearby neighborhood driving a black Ford Ranger Truck. Mill was arrested for obtaining property by false pretenses and drug charges. He was taken to Iredell County Detention Center and placed under a $5,000 secured bond. An arrest warrant has been issued for Brooks for obtaining property by false pretenses.
