A home in Kannapolis was damaged in a Sunday afternoon fire. The Kannapolis Fire Department said they were called to the 100 block of Blackwelder Street at 2 p.m. When firefighters arrived, they found smoke coming from the home and were able to control the fire. Everyone inside the home was able to escape safely. The house suffered some fire and smoke damage, but officials say the cause is still under investigation.
