A driver narrowly escaped with his life Wednesday morning after a crash on Cane Creek Road in Fairview. The Fire Department and the Highway Patrol worked the scene. Authorities say the driver of a Dodge truck was driving on the wrong side of the road when he ran off the road and went into a field. Another driver who witnessed the crash and came back to the scene, arriving at the same time as a group of firefighters who were returning from another call. The men came together and pulled the trapped driver out of the vehicle, just moments before it burst into flames. The driver of the truck was taken to the hospital.
