The Fair Grove Fire Department received final approval Tuesday to extend its fire protection service to a small portion of the county which was previously not covered by any one fire district.
The affected area, which sits in the southeastern portion of the county near the intersection of Buie Bodenheimer Road and Noahtown Road, was previously sandwiched between the Silver Valley and Fair Grove Fire districts. The area will now be included in a fire service, insurance and response district, providing better fire protection from the local fire department and providing a reduction in insurance premiums or the ability to purchase insurance protection not previously available, according to a proposal by Davidson County Fire Marshal Danny Ward.
