A storage building and its contents were destroyed and two nearby structures were damaged in a fire on High Rock Road in Boomer Monday afternoon. The Boomer Fire Department was dispatched to the fire at 760 High Rock Road at 2:10 p.m. Monday and found the 12-foot-by-20-foot storage building fully involved in flames, said Boomer Chief Allen Nichols. The Moravian Falls Fire Department was dispatched to assist. Nichols said Buddy Williams, owner of the pre-fabricated cork board building, was spraying water on the fire with a garden hose when firefighters arrived.
