A convoy of pink fire trucks will roll into Carolina Beach Saturday, Sept. 24. But they won't be responding to a fire, rather a call to help local women dealing with breast cancer.
The Pink Heals National Tour travels to areas across the country raising money and awareness. The trucks now make an annual visit to Carolina Beach.
"We are very excited they will be here for our 4th annual Toes-in-the-Sand Beach Walk," Janis Boroznoff says.
Boroznoff, a breast cancer survivor and Carolina Beach resident, is one of the organizers of the Toes-in-the Sand event.
The pink fire trucks, along with fire engines from the Carolina Beach Fire Department will cross over Snow's Cut Bridge around 9:15 a.m.
Breast cancer survivors, family and friends can register to walk the beach for Toes-in-the-Sand starting at 8:30 a.m.
