A disabled man escaped through the back window of his Troutman home Thursday morning after a kitchen fire broke out. The man, Delton Frontis, is paralyzed on one side of his body from a stroke years ago, according to Maverick Frontis, who claimed to be the man’s brother. Maverick Frontis said he was not surprised that his brother managed to escape on his own because “he’s pretty energetic.” Delton Frontis was treated for smoke inhalation, according to Troutman Fire Department Chief Allen Church. When firefighters responded to the single-story home at 344 Winchester Road, they located Frontis in the back yard. Church said Frontis escaped through a rear window.
