A popular sushi restaurant caught fire late Saturday night, but no one was hurt and there was minimal damage, according to the Winston-Salem Fire Department.
Firefighters were dispatched to Ise Sushi and Japanese Restaurant, at 121 Stark St. off Stratford Road, at 11:20 p.m. Saturday, Battalion Chief Shirese Moore said.
When firefighters arrived, they saw smoke coming from the second floor. The fire was in the second-floor bathroom closet, Moore said. The restaurant was closed at the time and no one was in the building, she said.
