Changes to the boundaries of Edneyville and Dana fire districts were approved by the Henderson County Board of Commissioners Wednesday.
Henderson County Rescue Squad Chief Jimmy Brissie said the changes would reduce the response times in those areas by an average of four minutes. The move would transfer parcels from the Edneyville Tax District to the Dana Tax District around Sugarloaf Road at its intersection with Ridge Road and on the nearby Chestnut Stump Road.
Parcels nearby, along Bobcat Lane and Q P Lane, would move from the Dana Tax District to the Edneyville Tax District, as would a number of parcels along Chimney Rock Road, Point Hope Lane and Fruitland Road.
