A family is safe after a fire destroyed their south Charlotte town house Thursday morning. According to the Charlotte Fire Department, the fire occurred at a town house around 10:39 a.m. in the 600 block of Staccato Street. Firefighters said flames were visible when they arrived on scene. Crews said 27 firefighters controlled the fire within 13 minutes. Firefighters said the family was home when the fire started but managed to make it out safely.
