A Statesville man said he was more than surprised when he came home early Saturday morning and saw firefighters. “I came home and saw two fire trucks outside,” Robert Adams said. “I guess they got it out before it burned the whole house down.” A fire started around 5:30 a.m. at 322 Newbern Ave., according to the Statesville Fire Department. It took about 15 minutes to get the fire under control.
