Crews were called to a two-alarm fire in the woods near a Rowan County business Tuesday morning. Fire officials say the fire broke out around 6 a.m. in the wooded area surrounding Boral Composites, a building material company on Correll Street. The road was blocked for a time. Firefighters and Rowan rescue crews responded to the scene. The cause remains under investigation.
