A man died in a fire at a wood frame home Tuesday afternoon on Camp Branch Drive, which is off Maple Grove Church Road in the Mountain View community.
The man, whose identity wasn’t immediately available, called the Wilkes County Communications Center and said the A-frame residence was on fire and he was trapped on the second floor. The home was at 134 Camp Branch Drive.
Mountain View, Roaring River and Knotville fire departments were dispatched to the scene at 1:58 p.m., a dispatcher at the communications center said.
