Wadeville Fire Department has been considering the possibility of asking their residents to vote on a fire tax so they can eliminate the need for the two fundraisers they do each year. Chief Jason Haywood said, “The hours and work required to raise these funds is not a task we can sustain.” Haywood went on to say with the funds they receive from the county and the approximate $25,000 they make from the fundraisers, they are able to cover the cost but that is all.
