On July 25, in a house on Fifth Street, Owen Conner suffered cardiac arrest and clinically died in his sleep.
Owen’s family and emergency workers from Iredell EMS, Statesville Fire Department and Iredell Rescue performed more than 4,000 chest compressions and four defibrillations to revive him twice.
After spending a week on life support at Iredell Memorial Hospital, Owen was released on Aug. 3 and started looking for the emergency workers who saved his life.
He met them Monday at the Iredell County Government Center to give thanks and share his story.
