One firefighter has been transported to the hospital after crews battled an intense house fire overnight in Newton. The blaze broke out at a two-story home located along 9th Tee Drive.
According to fire officials, the blaze was so intense the roof collapsed, taking down the second floor with it. Thankfully, no one was at home when the fire broke out. The homeowner
, who is elderly and in a wheelchair, tells FOX 46 Charlotte she's not sure she would have made it out alive. The cause and origin of the fire remains under investigation.
