The A.C. Reynolds High School Marching Band will have a place of their own to practice when band camp starts next week, thanks to a former band member.
The family of Richard Sales has donated land that currently holds a private softball field to the school in Richard's memory.
Sales, a member of the band 30 years ago and a former band parent, was killed in a traffic crash along Interstate 40 in April. “We're going to put a sign up that definitely says this is in memory of Mr. Richard Sales. Having traveled with him on band trips and chorus trips over the years, he was so dedicated to the arts in our school and he would be so honored to think that this property is going to be there as a gift from his family to our students and our school,” A.C. Reynolds Principal Doris Sellers said.
