A new air and light truck was recently purchased by the Roxboro Fire Department to save not only the people that are undergoing a critical emergency but also the men behind the tip of the pipe.
Purchased from the New Hope Fire Department in Orange County the fire truck will help firefighters breathe a little easier.
Facilitated with the help of the Piedmont Electric Membership Cooperation who supported the fire department by funding a no-interest loan.
The United States Department of Agriculture’s Rural Economic Development Loan and Grant program funded and supported Piedmont Electric’s loan program.
“We strengthen the community that we serve and we strive to support rural communities. This particular program that we have helps emergency programs and strengthens emergency response,” said Piedmont Electric’s Vice President and Chief Administrative Officer Susan Cashion.
