Teenager struck by school bus in Jacksonville

A 16-year-old is in the hospital with serious injuries after being struck by a school bus early Friday morning. Jacksonville police say a 16-year-old boy was struck by a school bus in the 1800 block of Gum Branch Rd. near Fire Station 2 at 6:37am. The location is adjacent to Jacksonville High School, and the school system confirms that the victim is a student at the school. The student was taken to U.S. Naval Medical Center Camp Lejeune with serious injuries and the crash remains under investigation at this time. WITN's CB Cotton was on scene where a number of police, firefighters and EMS were set up and the school bus had visible damage to the front right side.
