Multiple fire departments from Burke, Catawba and Caldwell counties responded Sunday morning to a warehouse fire in Connelly Springs.
The fire started before 6 a.m. at the WM Cramer Lumber Company on Texs Fish Camp Road. Firefighters still were battling the blaze at 9:30 a.m.
At that time, flames could be seen coming from Warehouse 7. Walnut and cherry lumber was kept inside the building, said William Phillips, a stacker at the company.
“This sucks, man,” he said as he watched the building burn. “This is my work, man.”
