During the regular city council meeting on Monday, Lexington Mayor Newell Clark and members of the Lexington City Council gave special recognition to the work and dedication of the city firefighters and law enforcement for their work during the recent fire at Lexington Home Brands.
“We want to thank you all,” Clark said. “Hats off to all you did in terms of keeping everyone safe and saving the buildings that you were able to.“
Clark singled out the actions of Fire Commander Paul Jarrett, who was the first unit on the scene for his quick decision-making, which he said greatly impacted how the fire was handled and lessened the risk to other buildings.
