Two people died in a Friday house fire in Wayne County, according to the Wayne County Sheriff’s Office. The fire was on U.S. Highway 70, according to officials. The male victim’s brother spoke with CBS North Carolina’s Robert Richardson off camera and said that his brother was in his early 70s and the wife was in her late 60s. They had lived in the mobile home for more than 10 years. The brother told CBS North Carolina that he’s sick to his stomach and doesn’t know what to do. He said he’s split on wanting to go back to the scene — he doesn’t want to see the victims — but he wants to see the extent of the damage to the mobile home.
