With more and more residential high rises going up around the Greenville area, local fire departments are now conducting regular training to make sure they're ready for any emergency situation no matter where it happens. That training was conducted on ECU's Campus at the Garrett Residence Hall Wednesday. The rooms and hallways were filled with smoke using smoke machines as firefighters from several different local agencies practiced their responding would in a large multileveled residential facility. Firefighters focused on tasks such as division of labor and task management to make sure the firefighters know what their role and what is expected in a similar real-life situation. Captain Mervin Taylor with Greenville Fire Rescue said the practice is one of the best ways to prepare.
