Residents escaped a house fire at 1629 E. 14th St. in Winston-Salem overnight.
Shortly before 1 a.m. today, firefighters arrived at the home to find it fully engulfed in flames.
The home’s residents made it out before officers arrived, according to a media release from the Winston-Salem Police Department. In a tweet, the fire department said one occupant was taken to the hospital after inhaling smoke.
The Winston-Salem Fire Department had the fire controlled by 2:30 a.m., according to the tweet. The cause of the fire remains under investigation, and the Red Cross will assist with the displaced residents, the fire department said.
