Firefighters battled a house fire Tuesday night in Winston-Salem. The fire started around 8:30 p.m. at a home on the 600 block of N. Stratford Road. Firefighters say there were flames visible on the side of the home when they arrived on scene. They worked to extinguish the fire and then searched the home. No one was inside. Firefighters say the homeowners are on vacation right now. They have been notified and Red Cross will be available if needed. Stratford Road is currently closed between Greenbrier and Virginia Roads and likely won't reopen until at least 11 p.m. No injuries have been reported.
