Crews responded Sunday afternoon to a fire at a home on Hidden Valley Farm Drive in Horse Shoe. The house is a total loss after the blaze. Authorities said that nobody was inside when firefighters arrived on scene.
No injuries were reported, but firefighters suffered from heat exhaustion while battling the blaze.
Neighbors called 911 around 2 p.m., after seeing smoke and then fire coming out of window in the house.
Eight agencies responded to the fire, including Skyland Fire & Rescue, so crews could switch out while battling the flames.
One neighbor lives just about 100 yards away, and spotted the fire while coming home from church.
