A fire gutted the Pamlico County Habitat for Humanity ReStore on Saturday night in Grantsboro.
“As we and others stood and watched the ReStore burn we watched a lot of hopes and prayers go up in smoke,” the organization posted on its Facebook page. “But all that was lost will not stop us from moving forward.”
The ReStore, located at 10766 N.C. 55 in Grantsboro, was reported on fire at 7:42 p.m. Saturday. Pamlico County Fire Marshal Chris Murray said, “I would consider it a total loss.”
Seven fire companies as well as other agencies responded to the fire including Grantsboro-Silverhill VFD, Reelsboro Fire-Rescue, Triangle VFD, Arapahoe Fire-Rescue, Vandemere VFD, Florence-Whortonsville VFD, Southeast Pamlico VFD, the Pamlico County Fire Marshal’s Office, sheriff’s office, EMS and water department.
