One thing that allows people to lay their heads to rest at night is the assurance that they are safe.
The residents of New London recently had this sense of security reassured with the fire department’s unveiling of its new truck.
On Saturday, the volunteer fire department held an open house to residents, providing free food and an up-close look at its newest safety measure.
Residents came throughout the day, with the main attraction being the brand new fire engine. Kids flocked to the truck to get their pictures made, while parents sat and looked over the truck’s features.
“I know that the materials, response time and other aspects will be improved,” New London resident Misty Honbarrier said.
New London Fire Chief Derrick Starnes described some of the truck’s features.
