Fire destroyed a mobile home in Rowan County on Wednesday morning, leaving a family of three without a home. The fire was reported at approximately 9:30 am in the 200 block of Elliot Drive, just off Highway 601 north of Salisbury. Firefighters said they found heavy smoke and flames consuming the mobile home when they arrived. Two adults and a child were displaced as a result of the damage to the home. The American Red Cross is helping the family. This is the second house fire on Elliot Drive within four weeks. The Rowan County Fire Marshal’s Office is investigating.
