A house fire Friday evening has displaced a family of five in Durham.
The Durham Fire Department responded at 5:46 p.m. to a fire at 1207 N. Hyde Park Ave., according to the city’s interim fire chief.
“Heavy smoke” was coming from the rear of the home, and it took firefighters 10 minutes to control the blaze, Interim Chief Chris Iannuzzi said in a news release.
The home sustained smoke and water damage, but no one was injured, Iannuzzi said.
